Creating our own 3-D Shapes

All week, we have been studying different aspects of 3-D shapes. Today, we used our problem solving skills (along with some marshmallows and toothpicks) to create our own 3-D shapes. I loved getting to see these little minds while they tinkered with their toothpicks and marshmallows to figure out what would make their shape. My friends created shapes from cubes to pyraminds and even rectangular prisms!

I have NEVER heard my kindergarten friends as silent as they were today while working on this. It was really incredible. I must be teaching a room full of future engineers! :-)
