Pancakes with the Principals

This morning, we got to celebrate all of our hard work over the winter break. Our class won the Winter Reading Challenge and we got to have pancakes with Dr. Patterson and Mrs. Skinner! We were so excited!

As a whole, OES read for 127,633 minutes over winter break. Our class contributed over 4,000 of those minutes! I am so proud of my friends and all their hard work. This celebration today was WELL earned!

When we got to the cafeteria, we picked up our tray with pancakes and selected either apple or orange juice. Then, things got really fun! We were offered syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate for toppings on our pancakes. One of my friends even told me that she felt like Buddy The Elf :-)

Dr. Patterson thanked us for our hard work during the Winter Reading Challenge. He reminded us that we had this success not because one person read a lot, but because we worked as a team! This is so true, and each one of my students worked very hard and earned this reward!

AND we got a trophy!!!! As you can see, we were a little excited about being #1 in Kindergarten :-)
