We are so excited! Today, we wondered if our baby ducklings would look like their mothers when they hatch. We researched and found that Pekin ducks do not look like their mothers when they hatch, but runner ducks do look like their mothers.
We recorded our findings in our An Egg is Quiet journals...
"Pekin babies do not look like their mom because they are yellow. Runner babies look similar for their mom because they are black."
"When runner ducks hatch they will be very similar to their mom.When they hatch, Pekin ducks are yellow. When they grow up they turn white. Pekin ducklings do not look like their mom."
"When the baby Pekin ducks hatch they are yellow. When the runners hatch they are black."
"Pekin ducks when they first hatch they will not look like their mom. Runner ducks kinda look like their mom."
